Student Typist (Part-Time) – Remote, Flexible Hours

We are a remote-first company and we offer part-time positions for college and university students. The idea is simple – you should be able to earn and study at the same time, with neither getting in the way of the other.

For some time now we have had student typists and we know that most students do not want anything complicated. They want flexible hours, honest work and something to put on a resume. That’s what this role is about.

Job Role:

You will be doing data entry, word processing, and basic formatting- nothing too technical. Mainly working with company files and databases: data entry, filing, light editing, that sort of thing. It’s easy work but it requires someone with an eye for detail, not just someone who rushes to get a number.

Responsibilities

• Keep current records and input data into company systems
• Typing reports, letters and other documents as directed
• Proofread your own work before submission — catch typos, formatting issues, etc.
• Organizing files for later retrieval of information
• Dealing with sensitive data with care and confidentiality
• Hitting weekly targets, staying accurate
• Sometimes join online training for better speed & workflow
• Remaining in contact with your supervisor if you need clarification on a task

Required Skills

• 40+ WPM typing speed with good accuracy
• Good eye for detail - you see when something's wrong
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel or Google Docs
• Can work independently managing own time and meeting deadlines with little follow-up
• Work comfortably from home on your own
• Clear written communication – can write a professional email without overthinking it
• Experience with data entry or tools such as Google Drive, Dropbox or Slack is helpful but not required

Eligibility Criteria

• Currently in college/university
• Freshers are welcome; no experience required
• Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours a week
• Prior typing/data entry experience is a plus, but if you don't have it, we'll teach you

Time Table

Remote, work from home. Minimum 10 hours per week, and the schedule flexes around your classes and exams. You will have weekly deadlines for assignments, and it’s up to you to manage your time within that.
